OVERPIPEUK PLATES

The OVERPIPE plates are especially designed to protect buried pipelines against third party damage and offer a reliable, economic and environmentally friendly alternative to concrete slabs or metal plates. Obviously, they offer a dramatically higher protection than plastic tiles sometimes used.

Models for distribution are smaller than the plates developed in collaboration with the Research and Development Department of ENGIE for the protection of transmission lines but have the same specifications.

They are an efficient barrier against third party interference and also a very efficient warning signal. They are validated by the French governmental regulatory (GESIP) as a mechanical protection offering a risk reduction factor of 0.01.

Lightweight (10 to 17 kg depending on the model), they are particularly easy to install. Installation of mechanical protection is compulsory in France for certain types of gas distribution asset networks (“MPC”).

PLATE INFORMATION

The OVERPIPE plates are made of injected HDPE. They have dedicated features such as:

Holes all over the surface (but less than 1% of tile total surface) to allow the flow of water to go through. The holes come from molding and not by later drilling which would weaken the plate.
Beveled edges on long sides and non-slip surface on both sides to facilitate handling and avoid slip and fall accidents.
Full body yellow color (UV resistant) as an effective warning signal different colours possible depending on the nature of the networks).
Fully customizable embossed warning message.

The OVERPIPE plates come in three dimensions to fit with the pipe diameter. The plates are assembled by juxtaposition and are linked by HOPE bond s. They can also be linked by their long side for an installation side by side.
